Hey, I'm Ryan.
I’m a lifelong maker with a deep passion for creative exploration, hands-on experimentation, and building spaces where others chase wonder and awe. My journey started in a screen-printing shop in high school. Since then I’ve been exploring the intersection of craft, technology, and education—leading workshops, designing workflows, and mentoring teams across a broad range of disciplines.
From screen printing, textiles, and dyeing to laser cutting, CNC programming, 3D printing, and large-format production, I’ve had the privilege of both working in and teaching across a variety of creative and technical fields. I thrive in environments where curiosity and innovation drive the work—where creative risks are encouraged, where learning happens through making, and where process is just as important as the final outcome.
As a leader, I believe that operations should never stifle creativity—they should supercharge it. My approach to management is rooted in designing scalable, adaptable systems that support artistic exploration without adding unnecessary friction. Whether I’m developing a workshop, refining a production process, or mentoring emerging designers, my focus is always on empowering others—creating environments where experimentation is safe, where mistakes are fuel for discovery, and where the tools and techniques of making are accessible to all.
At my core, I’m driven by curiosity, continuous learning, and a belief in the power of creativity to transform both people and organizations. Whether through hands-on teaching, process optimization, or collaborative problem-solving, my goal is to build systems and communities that enable makers, designers, and innovators to push their boundaries and explore new creative possibilities.

PROJECTS & PURSUITS
Beer Citizen: A Better Beer Review App
Beer Citizen was created to provide beer enthusiasts a better way to review, discover and share all of the amazing craft beers available around the world. While other beer review apps and websites focus primarily on the issue of “how good” a beer is, the objective of Beer Citizen is to create data-driven beer profiles to answer the broader beer question of “what’s it like?” by aggregating the trait data entered with every review of a beer.
Board Chair: Talent Economic Development Commission
I served as the inaugural chair of Talent Oregon's Economic Development Commission. My interest in economic development stemmed from my involvement in Talent Maker City, a community resource with a mission to help creative entrepreneurs in Southern Oregon make and sell their work. Talent's City Council formed the commission to help gain a better understanding of how policy impacts local business owners. The Commission engaged with local business owners over the course of a year to generate a comprehensive assessment report for City leaders.
